SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Police in Scottsdale say a man who had been missing since Friday evening was found early Sunday morning by security staff at Casino Arizona at Talking Stick Resort.

According to police, Willis Leis, 46, walked away from the Granite Reef Senior Center near 84th Street and McDowell Road Friday shortly after arriving there with his caregiver.

Leis suffers diminished mental capacity as the result of a long-term brain injury.

When he left the senior center by himself at about 6:40 p.m., he managed to escape the notice of his caregiver.

It's not clear where he was for the nearly 36 hours he was missing, but he was found safe by casino security at The Willows Restaurant at 4:15 a.m. Sunday. The Willows and Casino Arizona at Talking Stick Resort are located at Loop 101 and Indian Bend Road.

Leis' caregiver has been notified. Leis was unhurt and did not need any medical treatment.
