Tucson's Satori school goes solarPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A local private school received solar power Thursday.
Satori private school is now getting power from the sun thanks to a grant from the Arizona Department of Commerce. Technicians for sustainability completed the installation of the solar panels and hardware. The 66-panel system now provides more than 15-kilowatts of power to the school.
"I feel very priviledged and honored to be, ah, part of this program and the benefit that it's gonna provide to our community and to our kids," said Satori School Business Manager Brian Love.
The school expects the solar power to provide 40% of the school's needs. The school hopes to save more than $66,000 over the next 25 years.
