Holiday weekend forecastPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX - A windy holiday weekend is ahead for Arizona. Friday, winds shouldn't be an issue, and Valley highs will top out near 100 degrees.
Saturday will be almost as warm, but winds will start to pick up ahead of a cold front moving towards Arizona.
It will be a dry front though, and the lack of rain means dangerous fire conditions. The Valley, and all of the southern part of Arizona, is under a fire weather watch both Saturday and Sunday.
The high country deals with a wind advisory Saturday, upgraded to a high wind watch for Sunday.
Look for strong southwesterly winds both days, finally settling down Monday.
Behind the front, temperatures will fall. Sunday's afternoon highs will top out in the low-90s, and Monday's forecast is for sunshine and Valley highs in the upper-80s. Enjoy!
