Reward offered in cold case where man was stabbed to death

PHOENIX – Police are offering a reward hoping to solve a 15-year-old homicide cold case.

Rainy Cordova, 35, was at a party in the 4100 block of W. Monte Vista Road in January 1996 when a physical fight broke out.

Police say Cordova was stabbed as he tried to intervene in the fight that took place at about 1:30 a.m. on Jan 22 of that year.

His friends performed CPR while paramedics arrived but Cordova died at the scene.

The suspect has not been identified.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Phoenix police or call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
