Mesa serial robber who breaks in while victims sleep at large

MESA, Ariz. - The Mesa Police Department is looking for a suspect in a series of burglaries that began at the end of last year.

According to the Mesa Police Department, eleven burglary cases, between Saturday, December 11, 2010 and Sunday, May 22, 2011, may be linked to the same suspect.

The suspect entered the residence through an unsecured door or window. In a majority of the incidents the suspect entered through an Arcadia door.

The suspect took smaller items that can be easily carried out of the home such as laptops, cameras, cell phones, wallets, and gaming systems.

In one incident the suspect was confronted by a victim and the suspect put down the victim's laptop and fled without incident.

The burglaries occurred while the victims were sleeping between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, late teens to early 20s with a thin build.

Mesa police recommends residents secure all windows and doors prior to going to bed and be alert for anyone walking around checking doors or windows in the neighborhood. If you notice someone suspicious call police.
