East side neighborhood unhappy with proposed cell towerPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- An east side neighborhood is riled up over a potential cell phone tower being installed.
AT&T wants to build a new 68 foot tower at the entrance of the Indian Ridge historic neighborhood.
And Monday night at a public hearing, residents gave their opinion.
"We feel that the site it's an historic neighborhood. It's in a section line corner right at the gateway of the historic neighborhood and certainly AT&T can find a less obstructive location for a 60-plus foot tower that's gonna carry cell phone antennas," said Pima County Supervisor Ray Carroll.
Opponents want city council to review the process and decide the vote was illegitimate and start over for a new location.
