Susan Rogers, SC Humane Society, says the organization is dedicated to the welfare and humane treatment of animals. Keeping the shelter open has been a struggle due to the poor economy, according to Rogers.  She says it’s “month-to-month” but the shelter remains open.  She says the Thrift Store, which accounts for up to 30-percent of the Shelter’s monthly budget, is being enclosed and “upgraded” and is in need of items to sell.
