TUCSON, Ariz. -- Studens and teachers are asking, if the educational experience at Rincon High School needs to be turned around then why did AIMS scores improve?

Rincon was chosen in February by the TUSD governing board for a "turnaround" in which all staffers are fired and must reapply for their jobs, with just half re-hired.

"Yes, we feel its very wrong to Rincon it was labeled underperforming and this very dramatic action against teahers and their fine perfomrance at the school has been discounted," said Rincon english teacher Roger Shanley.

Rincon teachers are pointing at the improvement in AIMS scores and asking the board to reconsider their vote on the turnaround model.
