75 Illegal gaming machines destroyed in PhoenixPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX (AP) -- Authorities say 75 illegal gaming machines now have been destroyed at a south Phoenix recycling facility.
Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne and state Gaming Department Director Director Mark Brnovich were on hand Friday as the industrial crusher mashed the seized devices.
The large, box-like machines are known as coin pushers. They were seized from commercial and retail locations throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area as part of a multi-agency enforcement effort.
Horne says about $26,000 in cash also was seized by the task force.
