Girl unharmed after man threatens her with knife

PHOENIX -- Police are asking for the public's help to identify a man who threatened a 12-year-old girl at knifepoint in west Phoenix last month.

The suspect approached the victim near 79th Avenue and Avalon Drive, which is between Osborn and Thomas roads, at approximately 6 p.m. on April 13. Police said the man threatened her with a knife, but she was able to run away unharmed.

The suspect's motives are unknown.

Silent Witness released a sketch of the suspect described as a Hispanic male, 25 to 40 years old, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and 160 to 180 pounds. He has a teardrop tattoo under his left eye.
