TEMPE, Ariz. -- Police officers arrested a suspect in three Tempe robberies after investigators received a tip on his location.

Tempe and Phoenix officers arrested Forest Clayton Jr., 53, Thursday morning at a hotel near Van Buren Street and 19th Avenue in Phoenix.

Clayton was booked into Tempe City Jail and is currently facing three charges of robbery.

Clayton was identified as the suspect in a robbery Wednesday at the Bank of America at 1820 E. Warner Road in Tempe.

After the robbery, police said Clayton exited the bank and quickly walked east then fled the area in a small extended-cab charcoal-gray pickup truck.

Police said Clayton also robbed a Circle K at 1101 S. Rural Road on Sunday and Comerica Bank at 425 S. Mill Ave. on May 6.

Clayton presented a demand note during the two bank robberies and mentioned a weapon during the convenience store robbery.

Witnesses did not see a weapon in any of the incidents and no one has been injured.

Clayton was described as a black male, 6 feet 3 inches tall and 175 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a mustache. He has tattoos of a Playboy bunny on his chest, "SOCIETY" on his back and "ROCHELLE" on his left arm.
