Waldrop named to College Football Hall of FamePosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A key member of Arizona's Desert Swarm will be entering the land of football immortality. Rob Waldrop has been named to the 2011 class of the College Football Hall of Fame.
A two-time All-American and Pac-10 Player of the Year, Waldrop capped his college career in 1994 with 53 tackles and 8 sacks, big numbers for an interior lineman. The U of A proceeded to beat Miami 29-0 in the Fiesta Bowl.
Waldrop is the fifth former Wildcat to enter the hall.
He played for the Kansas City Chiefs, and the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League.
The induction ceremony itself is December 6 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.
