Oracle north of Tucson to be widenedPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Oracle Road is set to be widened north of Tucson. A packed public meeting Tuesday night answered questions on the project.
Oracle will be widened from two to three lanes in each direction from Tangerine Road to the Pinal County line, which will tie into the recently completed highway from Calle Concordia to Tangerine Road.
"I'm sure theres still some concerns about a few things. And tonight we hope to answer their questions and address them, turn their opinions around to see what a great benefit this will be to the state and to the region," said ADOT Todd Emery.
The project also includes retaining walls, left turn lanes, raised center medians and traffic signal improvements. At tonight's meeting there was standing room only, with about 400 people there.
