Windy WednesdayPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A strong spring storm is moving through Arizona today, bringing unseasonably cool temperatures, strong winds, rain and snow.
The cold front is moving in from the west, prompting wind advisories across the state.
For the Valley, the advisory will be in effect 2 p.m.-8 p.m. for strong southwesterly winds between 20 and 30 mph, gusting up to 40 mph. There's also a chance for rain today in the Valley, although it's only about a 20 percent chance this afternoon and tonight.
Under cloudy skies, afternoon temperatures will only warm to the upper 70s.
In the high country, rain began falling Wednesday morning. Snow was even coming down at higher elevations. Snow levels are expected to be near 7,000 feet today with a little bit of accumulation possible.
The storm moves out tomorrow, but we stay nice and cool with another afternoon in the 70s.
Temperatures warm back up to the low 90s for the weekend.
