UA thesis films premiere at Fox TheatrePosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The U of A's finest young filmmakers showed off four years of work Saturday night at the Fox Theatre.
Twelve thesis films hit the big screen. All were written produced, directed and acted by students who just graduated.
The screening was free and open to the general public.
Professors say it's a stepping stone to bigger national and international film festivals.
Saturday night's screening was a dream come true for some students.
"For me, I always knew that I wanted to go into film. In junior high I saved up, bought a computer, edited my own movies, went into high school and college just always knowing that the only thing I could dream of doing was making movies," said film student Dan Reeves.
The best flick will win a $5,000 prize in film services to support the lucky filmmaker in their next film production.
