GLENDALE, Ariz. - An SUV with a 1-year-old girl inside was stolen from a Glendale gas station Friday afternoon sparking an Amber Alert.

The car was found an hour later with the baby girl inside and unharmed.

Josh Shropshire said he stopped at the Valero gas station on 59st Avenue and Cactus just before 3:30 p.m. and left his baby daughter Isis and 7-year-old son in the car and left it running while he ran inside the store.

He says his 7-year-old then went into the store, leaving Isis alone in the car. When Schropshire emerged a few minutes later, his white SUV was gone and so was his daughter.

"I started freaking out and asked the attendant to call 911," he said.

Glendale police soon issued an Amber Alert.

Officer Gerald Syndor says police got a tip about a white SUV near 51th Avenue and Greenway and found the stolen car abandoned nearby with Isis inside.

The girl was rushed to Banner Thunderbird hospital out of precaution and was released in good condition at around 7:30 p.m.

"It was a lapse in judgement on my part, i really shouldnt have done it, I thought I was only going to be inside a minute," said Shropshire.
