Local businesses needed for internship programPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Pima County summer internship program is in need of about 80 more businesses.
The intern program will employ youths, aged 14-21, with these businesses this summer.
The program, not the businesses, pay for the wages that the interns earn.
"The supervisors that work with the youth, they're amazed at the quality of work and the experience that even a 14-year-old shows, so, give them a chance," said Maria Suarez from the Pima County Summer Intern Program.
The program operates through the county's one-stop program. About 60 businesses are already scheduled to participate this summer.
