Guilty plea in rare jaguar capturePosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The second person charged with capturing the only known jaguar in the U.S. Two years ago has pleaded guilty.
Janay Brun from Sasabe agreed to a plea bargain with prosecutors.
The 39-year-old woman, along with Emil McCain, were supposed to track and photograph jaguar activity. But they lured and trapped the jaguar known as Macho B, which had to later be put down.
Brun received a diversion agreement, which means her punishment is she cannot participate in a large cat study in the U.S. For 12 months.
