Man responsible for at least 4 armed robberies sought

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Police are searching for a man believed to be responsible for at least four armed robberies during the first half of May.

The suspect is described only as a white man in his late 40’s weighting between 180 to 200 pounds. Police say he cased at least one of the businesses he robbed prior to the crime.

Detectives say the suspect simulated a weapon at first but now displays a handgun and forces victims to the floor at gunpoint.

The last business he robbed was a Washington Federal Bank located in the 13600 block of north Tatum Boulevard.

Police believe the suspect may be responsible for more robberies in north Scottsdale and northeast Phoenix at a Safeway store, Fascinations and Tuesday Morning on Shea Boulevard.
