Judge rules Loughner letters off-limitsPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The federal judge hearing suspected Safeway shooter Jared Loughner's case has ruled two letters written to the judge by Loughner are off limits to prosecutors.
U.S. District Judge Larry Burns refuses to reveal the content, saying it pertains to the attorney-client relationship.
Loughner is due in court for a mental competency hearing May 25.
He has pleaded not guilty to murder, attempted assassination and other charges stemming from the January attack that killed six people and injured 13 more, including Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords.
