PHOENIX (AP) -- A Washington writer is helping Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer write a memoir to be published this fall by a division of HarperCollins Publishers.
HarperCollins says writer Jessica Gavora is helping Brewer with the book.
HarperCollins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis declined to comment on the collaboration other than to say the writer was suggested to Brewer by a HarperCollins executive who had worked with Gavora previously.
Gavora's background includes working as a speechwriter and adviser to then-U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft and authoring a book on gender, schools and sports.
HarperCollins says Brewer's book by the New York-based publishing house's Broadside Books division will be published in November.
According to HarperCollins, it will be entitled "Scorpions for Breakfast: My Fight Against Special Interests, Liberal Media, and Cynical Politicos to Secure America's Border."
