Tucson gas prices; Separate accidents lead to serious injury, one fatality

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Another jump for prices at the gas pump with Tucson drivers, on average, paying two cents more this week than last.

The lowest price in the Old Pueblo: $3.47 for regular unleaded.

The local average here now stands at $3.61.  The statewide average also increased two cents to $3.73.  Meanwhile the national number dropped one cent $3.93.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A wreck on Valencia left three people with serious injuries.

Two of them were transported to the hospital by helicopter, the other by ambulance.

Traffic was closed on Valencia at Kolb and at Old Vail Road.

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night after colliding with an SUV at about 9:30.

According to police, Brian Petrie, 37, was traveling south on Wilmot. A 27-year-old woman in the SUV turned right, in front of Petrie, from the I-10 frontage road. Petrie ran into the side of the vehicle.

The woman hasn't been cited yet.

Speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
