Mom, girl in stroller struck by car while in Scottsdale crosswalkPosted: Updated:
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – A mother and a child in a stroller were struck by a car as they were crossing a street in Scottsdale.
Police responded to the area of 90th Street and Shea Boulevard just after 1 p.m. on Monday.
The mother was pushing her 4-year-old daughter in a stroller in a crosswalk on Shea from north to south when the signal changed to green for eastbound traffic. A black SUV heading eastbound in the median lane struck the mother and girl while they were still in the crosswalk.
The pedestrians reportedly did not suffer life-threatening injuries. The mother was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center while the child was taken by helicopter to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.
It is unclear whether the driver will face charges, but police say it appears alcohol was not a factor.
