Tucson neighborhood hosts Solar Walk-through tourPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Some Tucsonans learned all about solar energy Sunday by taking a little tour through their neighborhood.
The Old Fort Lowell neighborhood association, sponsored a four-hour solar walk through that featured six homes. Neighbors got to learn all about the latest solar technology.
"We wanted to give it more of a personal touch where people could actually talk to, perferrably a neighbor, just someone down the street they might know from the grocery store, from walking the dog and say, 'I see you put panels on your house. Tell me about it. How did it work,'" said City of Tucson Solar Energy Coordinator Bruce Plenk.
Tucson is one of 25 Solar America cities chosen by the Department of Energy.
