Arizona students relieved by Miller announcement

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Sunday was a big day for Arizona basketball fans.  After sitting on the edges of their seats, they can finally breathe a sigh of relief.

Men's basketball Head Coach Sean Miller will return to the team next year. The announcement came late Saturday after rumors began circulating about Miller's meeting with University of Maryland officials in Las Vegas.

The details of his contract extension haven't been released, but fans are ecstatic the coach will stay in Tucson.

"He inherited a team that really wasn't so great, you know.  He had struggles his first year, and then, you know, next year he wins the Pac-10 regular season championship," said U of A student Evan Greer

"I think it's a good thing, I mean, he's a great coach. He obviously knows how to win basketball games and knows how to motivate our school," said U of A student Kayleigh Orozco.

"It does surprises me a lot because I thought he was gonna leave.  And the U of A probably would've been sad for college basketball," said U of A student Joe Chavez

"He had a good run this season.  No one thought they were really gonna do very good and then D-Will stepped up and coach Sean, he did great," said U of A student James Farris.
