Jorge Cantu hits 3-run homer, sends Padres past Arizona

SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Jorge Cantu hit a three-run homer and Aaron Harang pitched seven solid innings to lead the San Diego Padres to a 4-3 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday.

Cantu, hitting .184 coming into the game, homered in the first inning to cap a four-run burst.

The Padres came out swinging against Joe Saunders (0-4). It was San Diego's biggest first inning since scoring five times against Harang on July 29, 2009, at Cincinnati.

Going into this game, the Padres had scored a total of five runs in the first inning this season.
