Flirting with 100 degrees WednesdayPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Despite morning clouds moving in from the south, the deserts of Arizona are expected to warm up to the triple-digits this afternoon.
The Valley will top out right near 99 or 100, and is expected to stay as warm every afternoon through Saturday.
By Sunday, a windy and dry storm moves toward the state, bringing slightly cooler temperatures for Sunday. By Monday afternoon, Valley temperatures should be back in the 80s.
With today's heat, ozone levels are expected to be fairly high. The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality says an Ozone Health Watch or High Pollution Advisory may be issued for Thursday. Residents are encouraged to carpool, avoid using gas-powered equipment, and refuel their vehicles after dark.
