2-Year-old critical following near drowning in Glendale poolPosted: Updated:
GLENDALE, Ariz. – A 2-year-old girl is in critical condition after a near drowning incident in Glendale.
Emergency crews responded to a home near 71st Avenue and Camelback Road Just before 8 p.m. Tuesday.
The little girl was reportedly found floating face down in a backyard swimming pool.
According to Glendale firefighters, eight people live in the home. Five of them are younger than 16.
Those residents lost track of the toddler. It's not clear how long she had been missing or how long she had been in the water. It was one of the teens who found her.
The police officer who was the first to arrive on the scene began CPR on the little girl. He kept going until the paramedics got there and took over.
The toddler was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix.
