Tea party patriots rally over bin Laden newsPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Tucsonans celebrated the news Monday in front of Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.
Members of the Pima County Tea Party Patriots held a rally, thanking our troops for their dedication in tracking down bin Laden.
A symphony of car horns and messages of gratitude. The American spirit waved in the wind Monday outside Davis-Monthan Air Force base.
"The soldiers and the military and the American people have waited so long," said military wife Sherese Steffens.
A couple dozen people joined the Pima County Tea Party Patriots to honor our military men and women for bringing Osama bin Laden to justice.
"What they've been called on to do for the past 10 years is just incredible," said Veteran Larry Luter.
The ralliers carried thank you and support our troop signs.
"Today we wanted to be out here especially to thank them for everything they do for us," said Tea Party Patriot Ally Miller.
As patriotic songs filled the air, those waving a flag realized just how proud they are to live in the land of the free.
"It's our duty to protect our freedoms and appreciate those who go out and put their lives on the line," said Steffens.
Like all Air Force bases across the country, Davis-Monthan officials have also responded to the killing of bin Laden.
Monday they put out a warning of heightened security, saying people should expect delays upon entering the base.
