Warmer temperatures today and ahead, wind continuesPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- It's going to be a mostly sunny but windy day across parts of Arizona.
By the late morning, winds were already sustained at 30 mph in Tucson.
Southern Arizona is under a red flag warning for windy and dry weather until 8 p.m.
There are two brush fires burning in that part of the state, and firefighters will have to battle those winds today while fighting the fires.
At the same time, temperatures will jump up a bit today, with desert highs topping out in the low 90s.
Afternoon temperatures soar even more tomorrow, forecast to top out near 100 degrees for the second half of the week and into the weekend.
A slight cool-down is in the forecast for early next week.
