Arizona 9/11 memorial unchanged

The messages outraged some people and upset others.

Now, the eleven controversial inscription panels from Arizona's September 11 memorial will stay.

The people who support the 9/11 monument feel the messages that cover it are meaningful and a true snapshot of the era.

Balbir Singh Sodhi was shot and killed outside his gas station just days after the towers fell.

It's believed his killer Frank Rogue murdered him simply because of the turban of his head a racist reaction to September 11, 2001.

When the 9/11 monument was commissioned, Balbir Singh Sodhi's name was forever immortalized along with a timeline of emotions and events related to tragedy on nine-eleven.

Republican Representative Jon Kavenaugh wanted eleven of these statements removed.

Kavenaugh could try and override the governor's veto.  However, they don't feel that's going to happen.

The victim's family felt this veto and the monument are examples of what makes this country great.

And just some of the many reasons why his family moved here more than two decades ago.
