Arizona selects TE Housler with third-round pickPosted: Updated:
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) -- The Arizona Cardinals chose tight end Rob Housler of Florida Atlantic in the third round of the NFL draft, the 69th selection overall.
It's the highest selection of a tight end by the Cardinals since they chose Johnny McWilliams with the 64th pick in 1996. Arizona also chose tight end Leonard Pope in the third round in 2006 as the 72nd selection overall.
The 6-foot-5 Housler, who sat out the 2009 season as a redshirt, caught 39 passes for 629 yards and four touchdowns last season.
