Before you head out this weekend, make a note of these freeway construction projects, especially on the Loop 101 in Glendale. That way you can avoid the traffic tie-ups.
*Westbound Loop 101 closed between 59th and 67th avenues from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (May 2) for Glendale pedestrian bridge project. DETOUR: Traffic will use westbound frontage road while freeway is closed.
*Eastbound Interstate 10 narrowed to one lane between Verrado Way and Citrus Road in the Buckeye area from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday (May 1) for rubberized asphalt paving. Westbound I-10 narrowed to one lane in the same area from 10:30 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Monday (May 2). DETOUR: Expect heavy delays and allow extra travel time. Please merge safely in work zone.
*Southbound Loop 101 narrowed to one lane at Camelback Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (May 2) for interchange improvements. DETOUR: 91st Avenue.
*Northbound State Route 51 narrowed to one lane between Greenway Road and Union Hills Drive from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 p.m. Saturday (April 30) for pavement repairs. Northbound SR 51 on-ramps at Greenway and Bell roads closed. DETOUR: Consider alternate routes, including 32nd and 40th streets.
*Grand Avenue (US 60) narrowed to one lane in both directions between Loop 303 and Bell Road from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday (April 30) and Sunday (May 1) for rubberized asphalt paving. DETOUR: Expect heavy delays and consider alternate routes, including Bell Road.
*Eastbound Interstate 10 ramp to northbound Loop 101 closed overnight from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday (April 30) for HOV lane project. DETOUR: Use 99th or 91st avenues to Thomas Road while ramp is closed overnight.
*Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) ramp to northbound Loop 101 in Chandler closed from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday (April 30) for bridge construction. DETOUR: Traffic can exit to northbound Price Road to bypass ramp closure.
