SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Scottsdale police have made an arrest in the April 15 assault of a man outside of a Scottsdale night spot.

Jason Bonal, 36, was identified as the suspect through the work of Scottsdale police's Violent Crimes Unit.

On April 15, around 12:45 a.m. at the Narcisse Champagne and Tea Lounge in the Scottsdale Quarter, police allege Bonal got into a verbal altercation with the 62-year-old victim.

When the victim's fiance returned from getting help from bar personnel, the victim has sustained head injuries and was unconscious.

According to police, about 15 minutes prior to the assault Bonal and a group of friends were asked to leave the bar for disruptive behavior.

Apparently the victim and his fiance were at the bar, when the suspect made unwelcomed advances toward the fiance.

The victim was transported to the hospital that evening with life-threatening head injuries.

Detectives located Bonal on Wednesday afternoon in the southwest Phoenix area and followed him to a parking lot near 7th Avenue and Southern where he was taken into custody without incident and transported to Scottsdale City jail.

He has been booked and will be transported to 4th Avenue Jail.

Bonal faces one count of aggravated assault.

The 62-year-old victim remains in the hospital in stable condition.

Bonal told police he worked as a real estate agent and lives in Scottsdale. He has a prior arrest record with Scottsdale police for a warrant in 2007 and criminal speeding in 2007.
