How to make homemade Peeps

Brittney Shipp learns how to make Homemade Peeps while visiting The Farm at South Mountain for Easter Brunch.

Homemade Peeps


Yields a sheet pan
Boil in sauce pan:
1 cup of water
2/3 cup of sugar
2/3 cup of corn syrup

While that is on the stove soften 1/3 cup of gelatin powder in 6 tablespoons of water. Place 3/4 cup of corn syrup plus soften gelatin in mixing bowl. Pour hot syrup mixture into mixing bowl. Whip on medium speed until soft peaks. Turn to high speed until medium to stiff peaks. Spread onto cookie sheet and refrigerate for 4-6 hours (or until firm).

Pick your favorite cookie cutters, dip in warm water, cut out your shapes and dip in colored sugar and enjoy!

For added fun put on sticks and create Marshmallow pops!
