Man wanted for child sexual assault in CO nabbed in Arizona

WILLIAMS, Ariz. – A man wanted on sexual assault charges involving a minor out of Colorado was arrested near Williams.
Coconino County Sheriff’s deputies were notified by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office that 59-year-old Donald Gene Darras was in Coconino County. There is an arrest warrant for Darras for sexual assault of a minor.
CCSO deputies developed information that Darras was in the area near Highway 180 and conducted a search for his vehicle.
Darras’ car was located at about 4 p.m. Thursday in an obscured area off of Highway 180 and Highway 64.
Additional CCSO deputies were called in, as well as the US Marshal’s and Arizona Department of Public Safety officers.
Darras was located at the Grand Canyon Inn and arrested without incident. He is being held at the Coconino County Detention Facility on a $100,000 bond. He will be extradited to Pueblo, Colorado.
