Derrick Williams talks about draft decisionPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Arizona basketball star Derrick Williams spoke for the first time on Wednesday since releasing a statement that he will sign with an agent and enter the NBA draft. Most experts say that Williams is a likely top five pick. Derrick feels the situation is right, despite the looming NBA lockout.
Derrick acknowledged to the media on Wednesday that his right pinky finger was in fact broken during the regular season. He feels that his play, with the injury, may have improved his draft stock as the season played out. He still has not yet signed with an agent, but expects to sooner than later as his process moves forward. And he has promised his mother that he will complete his degree even as his next step to the NBA gets underway.
