Leake razzed, gets win; Reds beat Dbacks 7-4Posted: Updated:
CINCINNATI (AP) -- Mike Leake got razzed by a few fans during his first appearance since a shoplifting arrest, but ignored the nasty signs and gave the Cincinnati Reds a much-needed boost Thursday, going seven innings for a 7-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Leake (3-0) led the Reds to only their second win in eight games. The defending NL Central champs had fallen to .500 for the first time since May 8, and desperately needed a good showing by Leake, who allowed three runs and fanned six in his longest outing of the season.
Daniel Hudson (0-4) couldn't overcome a rough first inning, when Cincinnati sent nine batters to the plate for four runs keyed by Miguel Cairo's two-run single. Joey Votto later homered off Hudson.
