Man, teen found with stolen Hummer, lottery tickets

GILBERT, Ariz. -- A man and a teen were arrested after they allegedly stole jewelry, lottery tickets and a Hummer before leading authorities on a pursuit through Queen Creek and Gilbert.

According to the Gilbert Police Department, a home near Elliot and Gilbert roads was burglarized Monday evening. The suspects took numerous electronic items and jewelry and also stole a black Hummer H3 out of the garage.

At approximately 10:25 a.m. Wednesday, a white male suspect stole lottery tickets from the Water 'n Ice store near Gilbert and Guadalupe roads then left the area in a black Hummer H3.

About two hours later, a Mesa detective spotted the Hummer on Loop 202 near Hawes Road. He followed along with a helicopter, asking for assistance from Gilbert police.

Two Maricopa County sheriff's deputies initiated a traffic stop near Ocotillo and Ellsworth roads in Queen Creek, which resulted in a pursuit. The pursuit went into Gilbert and the suspects stopped then fled on foot in the 2100 block of South Bermuda Drive near Val Vista Drive and Williams Field Road.

Michael Blevins, 20, and a 15-year-old male, both of Gilbert, were arrested as they attempted to flee. The lottery tickets and the Hummer H3 were recovered at the scene.

Blevins is being charged with felony theft and theft of means of transportation. Wax is being charged with felony theft, theft of means of transportation, criminal damage to property and criminal trespassing.
