PEORIA, Ariz. – Police have arrested a man accused of beating a 72-year-old driver during a road-rage incident in Peoria.

Erik Southier, 26, of Youngtown, was taken into custody Thursday afternoon for his alleged involvement in the beating.

Police say he struck George Ray on April 4 while he was stopped on the road near Thunderbird Road and Boswell Boulevard.

Southier was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail on charges of aggravated assault.

Ray was on 3TV earlier this week asking for the public’s help in locating the suspect who attacked him.

Investigators say tips from the public led to Southier’s arrest.
