Transplant funding restored just in time for Arizona womanPosted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Queen Creek woman was denied a life-saving transplant after cuts to Arizona's Medicaid system.
Wednesday, that all changed.
Tiffany Tate got the call today from UMC that a pair of lungs were awaiting her, and she is currently in surgery.
Tate suffered from cystic fibrosis all her life. We caught up with her earlier in the day, happy the funding came through.
"We've all been fighting with everything we have to get us back on the list because these are life altering transplants that we all need if we don't them we are going to die," said Tate.
Tiffany will stay in Tuscon for a few weeks as she recovers.
