PHOENIX - The countdown is on to the Major League Baseball All-Star game this summer in Phoenix and a big giveaway is already happening.

Arizona Diamondbacks All-Star outfield Justin Upton was selected as MLB's official spokesperson for 2011 MLB All-Star FanFest.

To celebrate Upton, MLB All-Star Summer Ambassador Luis Gonzalez and Major League Baseball are conducting a ticket hunt at six locations around the Greater-Phoenix area Thursday afternoon.

MLB All-Star FanFest is the world's largest interactive baseball fan event and will be held at the Phoenix Convention Center July 8-12.

“I am excited to be a part of All-Star FanFest. It’s basically a baseball theme park for all ages; it’s very interactive and brings people closer to the game,” said Upton. “I’m also glad MLB is doing the Ticket Hunt again this year because it’s a really fun way to reward passionate fans. The winners won’t be disappointed with the package they receive.”

The first eligible fan at each of the six locations that located the MLB All-Star FanFest Ticket Hunt red packages will receive four tickets to all five days of MLB All-Star FanFest.

The package includes Holiday Inn Priority Club Rewards Pass lane to get to the front of the line for select attractions, food vouchers and a baseball autographed by Upton.

All residents of Arizona who are 18-years of age or older are eligible to win.

The event concludes at 7 p.m. or when the final red package is found, whichever happens first.

Don't worry, if you aren't a winner today you can still purchase tickets to attend the MLB All-Star FanFest in July. Tickets are $30 for adults and $25 for children ages 12 and under (children under two are admitted free), senior citizens and military personnel.

Tickets for MLB All-Star FanFest are sold on a timed-entry basis, providing fans the ability to reserve the day and time of their choice.

MLB is also offering several discount options, including discounts of $5 off each ticket purchased as part of a MLB All-Star FanFest Family Pack; these packs are sold in ticket denominations of four to seven. Two Family Value Packs are available – one consists of four tickets, four Pepsi’s and four hot dogs, all for $110; and another is a “Buy One Get One Free” offer for one full ticket price at $30 with the second one free on Friday, July 8.
