PHOENIX – As part of a nationwide hiring blitz, McDonald’s is planning to hire more than 1,000 new employees at its Arizona restaurants Tuesday.

As part of the one-day event, McDonald’s says it will hire up to 50,000 new employees throughout the country for seasonal, part-time and full-time positions, depending on what the individual restaurants need.

Arizona restaurants will be hiring for both crew and management positions.

Those interesting in applying for one of those jobs may visit their local participating McDonald’s. They also may apply online at

“Our business is strong and our customers are responding positively to the variety of choices on our menu and the value and convenience we provide,” said Travis Heriaud, McDonald’s owner/operator in a news release. “As our business continues to grow, we want to provide our customers with an even better experience in all of our Arizona restaurants. And every employee plays a vital role in helping us fulfill that goal.”

According to the McDonald’s, more than 75 percent of its restaurant managers and 50 percent of its owner/operators got their start working behind the counter.

Of the 14,000 McDonald’s restaurants in the U.S., nearly 90 percent are independently owned and operated.

"Every day under the Golden Arches, employees gain life-long valuable skills, training and advancement opportunities," reads the McDonald's website.

"Our national hiring event is an opportunity to invite more people across the country to join our team, and learn that a McJob is one with career growth and endless possibilities," said Jan Fields, president of McDonald's USA.

There are 277 McDonald’s restaurants in Arizona. Those restaurants employ more than 12,700 people.
