Power back on at Arizona State's main campus

TEMPE, Ariz - A rat caused the lights to go out on the campus of Arizona State University for much of Monday.

The area that was affected by the power outage is from Apache Boulevard to University Drive and from Cady Mall west to Mill Avenue.

Buildings reportedly affected by the outage included Business Administration C-Wing, Memorial Union, Hayden Hall, Stauffer Communication Arts, Farmer Education Building, Ira D. Payne Educational Hall, Cowden Family Resources, Hayden Library, Art Building, Art Warehouse, Life Sciences and Student Services.

Power was restored just before 4:30 p.m.

The rodent damaged equipment at a campus substation causing the outage.
