PHOENIX – Police have released a composite sketch of a man believed to be responsible in the shooting death of a woman in late February.

Police say Alexcia Salsberry, 22, and her girlfriend got into an argument and pulled into a tire shop parking lot in the 5000 block of West McDowell Road on Feb. 26 at about 2 a.m.

The girlfriend said a Hispanic man in his 20s approached them in an SUV and asked if everything was all right.

When the couple said everything was OK the suspect began to pull away. Police say the witness described a “pop” sound and realized the victim had been shot while in the passenger’s side of the car.

She was taken to a local hospital where she died.

Police have now released a composite sketch of the suspect as well as a surveillance photo of the vehicle at the scene.

Anyone with information on this case or the suspect is asked to Phoenix police or Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
