Rawson to challenge Cunningham for Ward 2Posted: Updated:
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Ward 2 city council member Paul Cunningham now has a new challenger for the next election.
Political newcomer and Republican Jennifer Rawson made it official Thursday at the east side Ward 2 council offices. She will run against Cunningham for the ward 2 seat.
"Our main problem is that we have to grow Tucson. We need businesses, we need jobs, we need a quality of life for the people that live here," said Rawson.
Cunningham was appointed last May after Rodney Glassman left office to run for the U.S. Senate.
The 64-year-old Rawson worked more than 35 years in private enterprise and is a culinary graduate.
