TEMPE, Ariz. – A teenager who vanished from Arizona Mills Mall Thursday afternoon has been found safe.
Chase Johnson, 17, and his family are visiting from Minnesota. They were supposed to return home Thursday night, but Chase disappeared. Family members last saw him at about 3 p.m. at Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe.
Police said Chase was found safe at about 7 a.m. Friday.
According to Molly Enright of the Tempe Police Department, somebody who was driving down the street spotted Chase, recognized him from his photo, and called the police.
There is no word on where Chase was or what he was doing during the approximately 17 hours he was missing, but Enright said he apparently, for reasons of his own, wanted to put off his return home to Minnesota.
