Marana police wait tables for Special OlympicsPosted: Updated:
MARANA, Ariz. -- Marana police were waiting tables Tuesday night to benefit the Special Olympics.
The tip-a-cop benefit took place at Texas Road House. The men and women in law enforcement waited tables and the tips they received go toward the special olympics.
"We just trying to give this individuals an opportunity to compete on sports and to build comarary and understanding of who they are as a person so that they can go out and be members of our society when they get a little bit older," said Sgt. Will Hess from the Marana Police Department.
Officers also hung out in the parking lot to allow members of the community a chance to ask questions.
