Arizona inmate granted stay of executionPosted: Updated:
The high court granted an 11th hour appeal for an Arizona inmate on death row.
Justices issued a stay of execution for Daniel Wayne Cook until it can consider his lawyers' argument that he had ineffective counsel during his post-conviction proceedings.
Cook's execution was scheduled for tomorrow morning.
The 49-year-old was convicted of raping, torturing and strangling two men in 1987.
