Much cooler temps headed to ArizonaPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX – After hitting that early 100 degrees last Friday, we’re going to return to more seasonal weather through the end of this week.
In fact, by the weekend, it may seem a little bit like winter. Forget about triple digits, we’re talking highs in the Valley only in the 60s by the weekend.
A series of storms systems will bring us the changes. First, a weak system from the sub tropics will be drawn into the state Wednesday. It will carry enough moisture that we have a chance to see some showers around Phoenix.
The better chances for rain will be in northern and eastern Arizona. It’s also going to be a warm storm so, naturally, the snow levels will be really high but again, not much precipitation is expected from Storm No. 1.
Storm No. 2 should be making its way into the state by late Friday and Saturday. This storm is coming direct from Canada and will be a cold storm. It will also carry more moisture so our chances for precipitation go up.
In Phoenix, we have about a 40 percent chance for showers on Saturday. In northern and eastern Arizona, the chances for precipitation, rain and snow, are much higher.
